Black Sea Coins

The Black Sea Region produces a plethera of ancient issues, including very old indiginus coinage (dolphins), Greek Colonial, Roman Provincial, Parthian, Viking, Crusader, Islamic, Russian and who-knows what else?

These issues are not "Roman Imperial" types, trust me.

The bulk of these coins will be from the Kingdom of Bosporus, and the colony cities of Panticapaeum and Olbia.

KOB and Panti collectors will find a number of cleaned/uncleaned hard-to-get issues offered at very reasonable prices.

Panti collectors pay heed: The Greek colony city of Panticapaeum tended to re-strike, over-strike and countermark their issues to such a degree that it makes your head swim just figuering out what's what. It's easy to collect the "perfect stuck" issues, but they should not be the end of your collecting interest.

It's all these really odd/freaky issues that are the most interesting. We'll post as many of these over-struck/countermarked as they arrive. Some are easy to figure out...but others are really tough.
