Ave!
Applique, Goddess or Personification, 1st-3rd Century
Copper alloy; 20mm/12.8gm
Con/ As Cast; minor loss of patina with earthen fill.
Description/ The face of a Roman goddess or female personification in 3D, hair combed from the top to either side and rolled in waves. Traces of iron rust on the reverse.
Seller's Note/ Due to its smallness (only the size of postage stamp), leads us to surmise it was not a furniture adornment, but instead attached to a small and valuable box, perhaps one with a key to open it? You tell me!
