Cosmetic, Nail Cleaner with Loop, c. 1st-3rd Cent
Copper alloy; 31mm/3.0gm
Con/ about As Cast; dark green/black patina, cleaned and waxed
Seller's Note/ Back in the day, Roman legionaries, whether on the march or in camp, always carried a small kit of personal grooming items. Such items may have included tweezers, an ear-cleaner/wax remover, and a nail cleaner just like this one! All would have had an attachment loop and have been strung on twine or a metal wire, then hung from their belt or carried in a pouch for easy access. Scarce!
