Weaving Hook, ca. 1st-3rd Cent, Rare
Copper Alloy; 47mm/2.6gm
Con/ As fabricated; green patina.
Sellers Note/ As seen in the photo, to fabricate this weaving hook, the metal was hammered flat (1mm), wrapped about a sharp-pointed metal implement until the sides were flush against each other. The pointy end was then bent into the purposely-made hook shape. Once done, a small pin was nailed into the small hole (seen top) to hold a small wooden workers staff in place.
