Applique, Horse, Zoomorphic, c. 1st-3rd Cent AD

Ave!

Applique, Horse, Zoomorphic, c. 1st-3rd Cent AD

Copper alloy; 35mm/9.4gm

Con/ Missing muzzle and legs, green patina beneath residual silvering (looks like dirt but it is not), traces of original soldering on the reverse.

Seller's Note/ This charming and unusual applique was soldered to the side of a small vessel with a square or round handle beneath, just large enough to not interfere with the applique. Not convinced that the horse ever had a tail in the original casting.
