Ave!

Cabinet Adornment, Minerva, c. 1st-4th Century AD

Æ/ 28.1gm; figure 29mm; with reverse post 29mm.

Con/ sound with a deep green and glossy patina.

Seller's Note/ Minerva was the Roman Goddess of wisdom and stratigic warfare (similar to the Greek Goddess Athena). That being said, it makes me wonder what was inside the small box/cabinet that she adorned. It had to have been something special inside, but what? That is the mystery. Either way, this Minerva adornment is very rare and I doubt that you'll ever see another like it. FYI - our photo skill does not give this artifact justice; much better in hand that seen in the photo.
