Ave!

Medical, Surgical Needle, c. 1st-3rd Cent.

Copper alloy; 90mm/3.3gm

Con/ As Cast; unbroken with eye intact; brown patina, cleaned and waxed. Rare in such condition and still useable! Ha ha!

Seller's Note/ Celsus discusses other kinds of suturing techniques in his medical literature. He wrote that the wounds were to be stitched up with needles. During this time, Roman doctors used linen, wool, silk, hair, and clips to seal wounds. Yikes!
