Silver Dormouse, Roman Era ca. 1st - 3rd Cent. AD
Pure silver, 32mm/16.4gm
Dormouse crouching, nibbling on a grain of some sort.
No one really knows the purpose of these very rare zoomorphic objects. Child's toy, good luck effigy, ancient Monopoly counter? Either way, it's a charming enigma from ancient Rome.
Most likely we have this way under-priced.
