Quechua Water Vessel, Peru, c. 18th-19th Cent AD

Ave!

Quechua Water Vessel, c. 18th-19th Cent AD

Wood-fired Black Clay; 11 inches tall/3 lbs 11 oz

Sheri and I purchased this pitcher in the Quechua (Inca) village of Pisac located high in the Urubamba River Valley, Peru in 2001.

It shows multiple generations of use and must have been a valuable object  as it shows many repairs and goat-skin (?) wrapping.
