Ave!
Zoomorphic Bird Brooch, Roman, 2nd Cent. A.D.
Copper alloy; 39mm/5.6gm
Con/ Wearable, original pin; enameling on wings, tail and eyes restored to 'like new'.
Seller's Note/ Charming example of a bird in flight... Note that the circlet on the tail of this fibula was designed so it could be worn as either a brooch or pendent. During restoration, the pin was removed and then re-afixed; it is now moveable and can be worn as it was designed 1,800 years ago. To see a before restoration photo, click the 'images' tab.
Perfect for any Roman collector.
