Super Scalpel for Cleaning Ancient Coins
One Tool plus Five Extra Blades
Here's the deal: we've used a variety of scalpel tools over the years but none have met the full NRC criteria. IE; loose blades, dull blades, hard to hold, no safety cap, too expensive, no replacement blades, etc., ad nauseum...
We are very happy to have finally discovered one that meets all your cleaning needs...and this tool rocks!
This precision scalpel tool has a soft handle for easy grip and comfort, a four jaw chuck and square bushing that insures a firm blade with zero rolling, and easily replaced blades. The blades are extremely sharp; thankfully, this tool even comes with a safety cap.
Use this scalpel tool before turning to DDDP's; lower cost and will save time and wear on these more expensive, but important, tools.
I use this tool to pre-clean coins, probe surfaces, remove the infamous "red blobs", hone patina if it's too thick, general and precision cleaning, etc. Can be used wet or dry.
Use this tool with caution; the blades are very sharp. As with all metal coin-cleaning tools, the blade is best used in circular motions; up/down and back and forth will cause scratching. Best used with the blade's curve held at a low angle to the coin's surface. The sharp tip can be used to clean between legends and close details; try to use the tip at some sort of angle rather than straight up and down; the tip is very sharp and it's too easy to score under the coin's patina.
This is an excellent cleaning tool, kids...trust me. The blades can be replaced for a very low price here, as well.
We give you Joy of Cleaning!
