A Pair of Superb Openwork Roman Soldier Belt Mounts, ca. late 2nd Cent AD
Copper alloy, 64mm & 30mm
Both of these 'trumpeten-style' belt mounts show Celtic influence which were very popular among the Germanic contingents in the Roman army.
Con/ Complete with original deep green patina. The Rx of the long piece shows residual remains of the iron pins. The 2nd piece is very rare in this condition, with the three pins still intact.
Ground found in NW Croatia near the Danube river, these two awesome belt mounts are a 'must have' for your Roman militaria collection.
