Con/ Boldly struck in high relief to either side on a broad flan; superior image of Zeus and a superb example of a Celtic horse and rider. Soft strike above on the reverse, otherwise, about Extremely Fine.

Obv/ Celticized laureate and bearded head of Zeus r.

Rev/ Celticized wasp-waisted rider on horse prancing left, left foreleg raised, holding branch (barely seen) in right hand and reaching back to the horse's tail with his hand; control mark O♦O below.

Seller's Note/ Our price for this simply gorgeous example is ridiculously low, folks as it is a tetradrachm rather than the more common drachm.

Sirmia was a fertile region of the Pannonian Plain in Europe, between the Danube and Sava rivers. Today, it is divided between Serbia in the east and Croatia in the west.
