Ave!
Ring, Medieval, Ladies, Engraved with Christian Cross, ca. 12th-15th Cent
Copper alloy; 3.2gm / Ring size 7 1/2
Con/ As Fabricated and Engraved; warm brown patina; sound and certainly wearable.
Description/ Constructed of two parts; the band and the bezel. The band has been finely engraved all about the outer surface and, not seen in the photo, at the base of the band is a small raised area that has also been engraved with a tiny cross! The same cannot be said for the oval bezel, crudely engraved with a cross with crescents (?) about. And when the bezel was ineptly soldered to the band, it gave it a slightly irregular appearance. Yikes!
Seller's Note/ As to whom actually wore this ring is moot; it could have either a man or a woman as folks had, in general, smaller hands in those times. Rings were made to be worn, and this lovely ring needs a happy finger.
