Ave!
Ring, Roman, Men's, with Deity intaglio, ca. 1st Cent
Copper alloy; Ring size 6 3/4 / 8.2gm
Con/ The bezel worn from use, otherwise, As Cast and engraved. Near black patina with bronze high-lights; cleaned, waxed and certainly wearable; better in hand than seen in the photo.
Description/ Male figure (a deity?) standing right, plants and vines to either side; above left, eagle with wings closed; above right, small figure of Victory
Seller's Note/ Most likely this ring was used as a signet to seal letters and documents. But who is the intriguing figure on the bezel? Rings were made to be worn, not tucked away. The longer this ring is worn the better it will look!
