Ave!

Ring, Medieval, Men's, 'Fleur-de-Lis' Intaglio, ca 16th-17th Cent

Copper alloy; 5.9gm, Ring size 10 1/2!

Con/ Worn from use, otherwise, As Fabricated; beautiful warm milk chocolate brown patina, wearable, for sure!

Description/ Lily flower within oval cartouche.

Seller's Note/ Due to wear on this ring, it was worn by the owner for many, many years. We surmise it was worn by a man over a thin glove or someone with large fingers for the era, and possibly as a signet to seal documents, letters, etc.

The purity of the 'Fleur-de-Lis' or Lily Flower was, and still is, the symbol of the Virgin Mary.
