Maya, Eccentric Flint, Flame type, c. 500-800 AD

Chert; 7 inches/4oz

Con/ as knapped; acid washed to remove stony inclusions.

Provenance/ Our best guess is the ancient Maya city of Lamanai, Belize. It was only after her demise in 2012 that we found this eccentric flint in a disintegrating shoe-box in her garage!

Seller's Note/ Such eccentric flints are extremely rare and never seen outside of museums.
