Ave!
Ring, Medieval, Ladies with Egyptian Jewel, ca. 16th-17th Cent
Copper alloy; Ring size 9
Con/ about as Cast and Fabricated, sort of. Cleaned and certainly wearable, this lovely and delicate ladies ring needs a happy finger.
Seller's Note/ As for the stone in the bezel, I have to give credit where it's due. When arrived, the bezel was empty, okay? I sent it to our colleague, David Roeder, and asked him if he had an appropriate stone or gem that would match the ring's bezel. Here is his reply:
"I added a piece of 18th. Dynasty Egyptian faience (time of King Tut) to the your ring's bezel. Believe it or not, I almost tossed it out two weeks ago. Luckily for you, I did not. It was from a broken amulet I had forgotten about. It is actually more glaze than faience, but it worked beautifully and looks like turquoise."
Are you kidding me right now? Rings were made to be worn, not tucked away.
