Spearhead, Socketed, Iron, c. 2nd Cent. AD, Rare!

Iron; 165mm/78.3gm

Con/ Socket fore-shortened, otherwise, about As Forged; treated to prevent further corrosion. ♦

Seller's Note/ The socket itself is 90mm but we suspect it would have certainly been much longer, perhaps extended to 20 CM to accept the wooden spear shaft. The interior of the socket is filled full with more iron (!) which would have added more weight to the spearhead when thrown by a soldier in combat. We have never presented such in the past, for sure. Very rare and prefect for shadowboxing!
