Bell, Roman, Pyramid-shaped, c. 1st-3rd Cent

Copper alloy; 57mm/50.1gm

Con/ about As Fabricated; glossy dark brown patina. When arrived, the bell was missing its clapper but as seen in the photo, the clapper has now been replaced and the bell chimes!

Seller's Note/ Such bells were hung in doorways as a protection from evil spirits. An interesting and charming bell with typical four feet. And speaking of protection from evil spirits and four feet, our puppy Patrick is frightened by the sweet chimes and takes off running! LOL!
