Paleo-Indian (Early Man) Axe, c. 10,000 BC

Stone; 77mm, bi-faced.

Tools like this were affixed to a short wooden shaft with sinew and pine resin. Please note the photo; what appears to be a few dirt deposits, are not. They are actually traces of the pine resin applied thousands of years ago.

From the Vada Sandes Collection, ground found in Western Colorado.
