Buckle, Belt, Plate with Repousse, c. late 4th Cent, Scarce!

Copper alloy; 40mm x 28mm/7.9gm

Con/ Broken buckle and the obverse somewhat chipped, otherwise, about As Fabricated; choice green patina, cleaned and waxed.

Description/ Cast flat, the obverse side of the plate features a delicate repousse of dots and hearts within a rectangle; further dots about the frame. The plate was then folded in half and the buckle added. Once completed, the leather strap was inserted and permanently affixed with five iron rivets.
