Seller's Notes/ Such torcs were worn by Celtic warriors around wrists, arms and neck, and they came in a variety of shapes from smooth to gnarly-macho. Many of these may date as far back as the Late Bronze Age. A nice representative lot of these 'macho'-type bracelet. Excellent for research or simply collecting.

As noted above, these were purposely broken in antiquity, as gifts to the Celtc Gods, perhaps Cernunnos himself. From a small hoard of broken axes and sword hilts found near the Danube River. Such hoards were often deposited near rivers and wet places like swamps or even caves. As these spots were often quite inaccessible, they most probably represent gifts to the gods or for other less understood ritual reasons.
