Con/ Some chipping about the bezel, otherwise, about As Cast and Engraved; warm brown patina, cleaned, not waxed.

Seller's Note/ Fabricated in the same shape and size of  a Demon Catcher Ring, ours does not feature the spider web on the bezel which was meant to capture the curses/demons but if that failed, the lands and grooves would make the curse simply slide away. Still with us?

But rather, this one features a large pentagram with the letter A (?) crudely engraved within. 

Seller's Note/ So what is going on here, anyway? Is this a magic ring? Yes! Was it used for Satanic purposes for casting spells or curses? Well, maybe yes or maybe no. Rings such as this were usually worn for their apotropaic (protective) use against such evil charms and spells cast on the wearer. But this ring raises a few interesting questions, does it not? Was the pentagram for protction againest an individual whose name began with the letter "A" or was it worn to cast back the spell or curse against him? Very cool!

Concerning medieval magic rings, accurate timing is difficult. These types of rings are called magic rings because they seem to have meaningful symbols; medieval people were superstitious and believed that things (health, crop, wealth, weather, cattle, security, salvation, protection against spirits, etc) could be effected with talismans, spells, etc., therefore it is believed that these rings were made as protective or influential talismanic uses.
