Ave!

Ring, Medieval, Ladies, Star Intaglio, ca. 15th-16th Cent

Copper alloy; 1.9gm  -- Ring size 7

Con/ about as Fabricated; warm brown patina.

Description/ Fabricated as one piece, the round bezel was engraved with a four pointed star within a circle of dots.

Seller's Note/ It has ben noted that many such 'star-type' rings were worn by Crusader knights or pilgrims returning from the Holy Land, ca. 11th-13th Cent. Those rings tend to be heavier and made from non-precious metals. In the case of this ring, we suggest 15th-16th Cent. due to the more formal styling and intricate dotted engraving. Rings were made to be worn, not tucked away. The longer this ring is worn the better it will look.
