JAX Pre-Dip Coin Cleaner, One Oz. Bottle

This product is brought to you from the same company that provides us with RenWax and Ren Conservators Wax, marketed under the name "Renaissance Metal De-Corroder'.

Using JAX or Deller's Darkener can often be a bit frustrating, result-wise, do to the metal mix in any given coin. Another problem arises when your coin's surface is not completely free of oil from your hands.

We've been experimenting with this viscous fluid metal-cleaner for quite some time and are pleased to report that it does give superior results prior to emersing your coin in JAX solutions.

Here's how it works: you can either set the coin in the fluid or apply it to each surface with a Q-tip (this works best). Then let the goop do it's stuff for 3-5 minutes, then rinse it off under running water, being careful to never touch the coin with your bare hands. In this case soft-tip hemostats or plastic gloves are ideal. Now set the coin on a paper towel and gently pat dry. Now your coin is ready for JAX!

One bottle will serve for 30-40 coins or more if you use the Q-tip method.

Caviat Emptor! While this a a gentle cleaner, it is NOT meant for coins with intact patinas. Rather, it is best used on fully/nearly stripped coins such a those that have undergone electrolysis, lye-baths, etc.
