Islamic Evil Eye Black Magic Amulet, c. 19th Cent

58mm/20gm/ Silver with gold filigree, black pearls and green stone; hollow with silder below to insert a written blessing or curse.

In Islamic lore, it is believed that dark magicians possess a power in their glance to curse, harm, injury, or misfortune and even death. Anti-Evil eyes are various objects that reduce the effect of evil glance, thus protecting the ones who carry them. Blue beads, wild mustard, garlic, sea shells, old coins, lead, mercury, the shell of a small turtle, silver and gold 'Masallah' motifs (inscription of the word meaning 'God save him' on gold or silver) are used with this purpose. 'Muska' is a written charm which is believed to have a magical and religious power to protect the possessor from dangerous external factors. It is generally carried in triangular cases as seen in our example.

But, at the same time, black magicians can use this amulet to curse any individual via the written spell inside the amulet.

Seller's Note/ Our piece is empty of all spells, blessings or curses. This amulet is not a 'toy' to be played with, trust me.
