Pomander Duet, Medieval c. 14th-17th Cent
Copper alloy; each at c. 25mm
Con/ 'as cast', no breaks and still usable.
Seller's note/ Such small pomanders were always cast hollow with a pair of holes at the top near the attachment loop, where a pleasant scent or perfume could be injected within. These pomanders were either worn on a chain about the neck, or on a brooch, where they could easily brought to the wearers nose. Very rare in this condition; the inverted tear-drop example is especially nice.
