Roman-era Zoomorphic Lioness Casket Leg, c. 1st-3rd Cent AD
Copper alloy, 52mm/36.2gm (!) = huge for the type
Con/ 'as cast' with superb and glossy green patina
Seller's Note/ This lioness cabinet leg was once connected to the bottom of a small cabinet/box as one of four stands. Such a cabinet would have been in a home a very wealthy Roman woman...with attitude for sure. 20+ years in this business and we have never seen such a wonderful and delightful artifact in such sublime condition nor at such a large size and weight.
Another excellent addition to your Roman artifact collection.
