Earring, Celtic, c. 5th-4th Cent. BC

Copper alloy; 31mm (counting the loop) / 7.1gm.

Con/ As Cast; flawless green patina, cleaned, not waxed..

Seller's Note/ Certainly the oldest earring we have ever presented here on NRC! FYI - ancient copper alloy metal tends to become quite brittle over 2,500 years and we suggest that you do not attempt to bend the loop or it will break. Just saying...

Found in a small Celtic settlement located on the southern bank of the Drava River.

A lovely piece for ancient jewelry collectors! Very rare and museum quality.
