Celtic Proto Ring Money, Multiple Lugs, c. 600-400 BC

Copper alloy; 17mm/2.2gm; dark green patina, cleaned and waxed.

The ring has a scarce multiple lugged design in four equal areas about the circumference and was used as currency before the introduction of struck coins in the Eastern Danube region and the Black sea area by the Eastern Celts.
