Ave!

Ring, Roman, Lady's, Capricorn Intaglio, ca. 2nd-3rd Cent

Copper alloy; 2.8gm, Ring size 5 3/4

Con/ As Cast/Fabricated; near jet black patina with brassy high-lights. Certainly wearable, this lady's ring needs a happy finger.

Seller's Note/ In the photo, the engraved Capricorn (half goat/half fish) on the bezel of this ring can be clearly seen in the photo. We have no doubt that it was used as a personal signet used to seal letters and documents. As to who wore it...perhaps a mariner's wife praying that her husband would stay on the good side of Neptune?

This ring would be a very special and unique gift for anyone born under the astrological sign of Capricorn!

Rings were made to be worn, not tucked away. The longer this ring is worn the better it will look!
