Antoninus Pius, Sestertius, Quadriga Reverse

Orichalcum; 30mm/27.7gm  Mint of Rome c. 145 AD

Con/ Some minor loss of patina and slightly off-struck on the reverse (no SC), otherwise, Very Fine or better

Obv/ ANTONINVS AVG PIVS PP TR P; laureate head right

Rev/ COS IIII SC below; Antoninus driving slow quadriga left, holding eagle-tipped scepter

Ref/ RIC Vol III 767a

Seller's Note/ The awesome reverse on this issue commemorates the emperor's assumption of his fourth consulship on 1 January 145 AD. For cleaning? Just soft dirt and you know the drill. After appropriate cleaning, a wax and buff will not only bring the patina it to glory...but will greatly increase it's value in your collection, as well.
