Crossbow Fibula, Onion Dome type, 3rd-4th Cent AD

Copper alloy; 66mm/ 34.8gm

Con/ Slightly plow bent and missing pin, otherwise, as fabricated. Original green patina with residual rust from the iron connector pins.

Typology: Keller 4a, c. 320-390 AD. Distribution: Upper Danube and Pannonia regions. Notes/ The foot is flanked by two lines with a zig-zag pattern within.

Seller's Note/ A beautiful brooch and an excellent example of how the were cast and assembled with iron rods and pins!
