Ave!

Ring, Medieval, Men's, Walking Stork Intaglio, ca. 11th-16th Cent

Copper alloy; 4.1gm, Ring size 8 3/4

Con/ As Fabricated; eye-pleasing dark green patina, cleaned and certainly wearable

Description/ Stork on a round raised bezel walking left, wing and tail feathers raised. Decorated shoulders and band.

Seller's Note/ This ring was found in the very same farm fields as similar 'walking stork motif' rings also presented in our shop. But why such walking storks? In medieval times, as well as now, storks were a symbol of good luck, longevity, and when they returned to their nests it was a harbinger of Spring and time to plant your crops.

Rings were made to be worn, not tucked away. The longer this ring is worn the better it will look!
