8 Fire-melted LRBC Coins!

Æ; 36mm/26gm

Con/ See the photo...

Ref/ Are you kidding me right now?

Seller's Note/ It is not unusual for NRC to receive a few pocket-spill coins that are simply fused together with ancient dirt which can be easily separated in DW soaks. This is not the case of these eight issues, for sure. As seen in the photo, these droopy melted coins were in a serious and very hot fire to cause such an effect.

Grave goods? Doubtful.... A stash of coins from a burned down villa or home? Maybe... No matter your, or our, conjectures, the answer is moot. Either way, this mass of melted coins is very rare and we are not convinced that they should be presented as "uncleaned" coins, but rather as an archeological artifact.
