Ring, Medieval, Ladies, with Lapis Gem, ca. 17th-18th Cent

Copper alloy; Ring size 8

Con/ Polished to 'like new' condition and certainly wearable.

Construction/ Cast as a single band, then hand-engraved in chevron patterns to either side. After which the jewel was set into the cup-shaped bezel and glued into place.

Seller's Note/ Despite the base metal band, this had to have been an expensive ring in its day as the gemstone is a choice example of dark blue Lapis lazuli!  Rings were made to be worn, and this stunning, lovely, and delicate ladies ring needs a happy finger.
