Ave!

Maximian Hercules, Follis, Fides Militum Reverse

Æ Follis, 29mm/10.0gm  struck c. 305 AD

Con/ After appropriate cleaning, Good Very Fine; perfectly centered strikes on both sides; dark green sound patina. Just soft dirt; you know the drill. ;-)

Obv/  IMP C MAXIMIANVS PF AVG, laureate head right.

Rev/ FIDES MILITVM; Fides seated left, holding two standards; dot in right field.

Ticinum Mint; TT in exergue.

Ref/ RIC VoI VI, 55b.

Seller's Note/ You may have noticed this issue was 'holed' in antiquity to be worn as pendent, but not with the emperor facing, but rather the reverse image of Maximians' Trust in the Roman Army. Who wore this pendent? Our best guess it was Roman soldier, for sure.
