Seller's Note/ The jewelry smiths in the medieval city of Ragusa (modern day Dubrovnik) began to produce these beads way back in the mid-1400s and still continue to this day. Dubrovnik-style beads caught on with other jewelers throughout the Balkans and Eastern Europe and became very popular during medieval times.

Sheri says that although they were fashioned to be worn on a necklace, they could also serve as matched earrings as well.
