DIY, Cast Lead WWI Artifact, Dated 1918!

Lead; 30mm/12.5gm

Con/ about As Cast; typical and eye-pleasing lead patina beneath soft dirt.

Description/ This is where it gets tricky, OK? Somewhat in the shape of a German Iron Cross, but not exactly, for sure. The obverse features a roundel in the center of the cross, 1918 within a wreath. The reverse is more problematic and will only be fully revealed after patient cleaning.

Seller's Note/ The top shows no evidence of ever having a a loop, as normally found on medals. And remember it is cast lead, not stamped in bronze as usual. So, what is it, anyway?

As NRC has investigated this intriguing artifact infinitum and have found none even close, we suppose it must be rather rare or maybe not. Who knows!
