Marcus Aurelius, Sestertius, Minerva Seated reverse, Ghostly!

Orichalcum; 29mm/22.8gm   Mint of Rome ca. 153-154 AD - Struck under Antoninus Pius.

Con/ Near unblemished pale green patina, hints of legends to either side, recognizable portrait of M. Aurelius and a spectral image of Minerva. Fine.

Obv/ AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG P II FIL; Bare-headed and draped bust right.

Rev/ TR POT VIII COS II / SC; Minerva, helmeted, seated right holding spear, left hand on shield.

Ref/ RIC Vol III 1315 (A. Pius)

Seller's Note/ Once the soft mud is removed from this scarce issue, wax and buff to heighten all ghostly images looming from out of the past. Very cool!
