Con/ About As Fabricated; pale green/blue and cream colored glaze; light deposits.

Description/ Burial figure left in the tomb of the dead to serve as a servant in the afterlife. Depicted mummiform, an Egyptian farmer wears a wig and a false beard. Arms crossed, in his left hand he holds a pick and in his left hand a hoe. The reverse features text in Demotic script asserting the shabti's readiness to answer the summons to work.

Provenance/ From an old Australian collection formed in the 1980's.
