Ave!

Ring, Medieval, Men's, Enigmatic, 12th 15th Cent

Copper alloy; 10.4gm - Ring size 11

Con/ about As Cast and Engraved; brown patina with bronze highlights.

Description/ Cast as one piece then engraved on the bezel and about the band.

Ref/ Not found in Pollio

Seller's Note/ This big and bold ring features a rather enigmatic and curious engraved bezel, that could represent a highly stylized letter "I" in Lombardic script...or perhaps the symbol of the wearers guild, or perhaps, or perhaps, or perhaps. One thing for sure is that this ring was designed for one individual only and our best guess is that the bezel was used as a signet to seal or imprint important letters or documents.
