Ave!

Key Handle, Roman, Curious!, c. 1st-3rd Century

Copper alloy; 43mm/24gm

Con/ Pleasant pale glossy green patina with an octagonal closure. Small break on the ring and missing key (?), otherwise, As Cast.

Ref/ Roman Keys by Donald Jackson (View the 2nd photo)

Seller's Note/ As seen in the photo, our key handle is spot on for Jackson's # 315B. So, where is the key itself? Did it fall out due to lack of soldering and plowing? Or was the handle simply a blank, cast by the lock smith, waiting for a new customer who needed a custom-made key? The choice is yours to make.
