Ave!

Roman Buckle, Tinned and Tricky, c. 2nd-3rd Cent AD

Tinned Copper alloy; 26mm/4.2gm

Con/ Some loss of tinning, otherwise, As Cast and Fabricated; pale green patina, original and moving tongue; wearable with care.

Ref/ A&L AA12.24 var.

Sellers Note/ The fleur-de-lis shaped tongue on this remarkable buckle creates an optical illusion as it replicates the normal type of frame as seen in the second picture.

A unique little piece, for sure!
