Faustina Junior, Sestertius, Salus Reverse

Faustina the Younger was the daughter of Antoninus Pius and Faustina I, wife Marcus Aurelius and mother of Commodus.

Orichalcum; 30mm/22.9gm    Rome Mint, Struck ca.161 AD

Con/ Glossy warm green and brown patina with a lovely portrait of the empress and a very crisp image of Salus. Struck just off-center on the reverse, otherwise, Good Very Fine; 100% better in hand, trust me.

Obv/ FAVSTINA AVGVSTA; draped bust right, wearing simple, narrow hairban.

Rev/ SALVTI AVGVSTAE; Salus seated left, feeding serpent from patera, SC in exergue.
