Ave!
DIY, Uber High Grade Roman Brooches, 3rd Cent AD, 4 Pack!
Copper alloy; The covered spring brooch seen below in the photo is 33mm/29.7gm!
Con/ Each missing pin, otherwise, about As Cast and Fabricated. All have been somwhat pre-cleaned and have a sound green patina below the very soft dirt.
Seller's Note/ If you doubt your cleaning skills, no worries, as these are easy to clean because they are all covered with soft dirt only. All you'll need is distilled water, a toothbrush, and a scalpel. Soak them in the DW to allow the dirt to turn to mud, toothbrush, use your scalpel and repeat as needed. Once done, apply some Ren Wax, give them a buff...and Bob's your uncle. :-)
As for referencing these brooches, nearly all of these brooches can be identified in the Richard Hattatt collection. Or can be found right here on NRC!
Great deal on these considering the very high quality of each!
