Con/ Struck slightly off center on the reverse, otherwise, Very Fine.

Obv/ PIETAS; laureate head of Pietas right.

Rev/ M • HERENNI; Amphinomus or Anapis, carrying his father on his shoulder to right. Control mark in right field.

Ref/ Crawford 308/1b.

Seller's Note/ Amphinomus and Anapis were two legendary brothers, whom at great peril of their own lives, saved their parents from the flames of Mt Etna at the very moment as an eruption of the volcano threatened their immediate destruction.

Why Pietas? She was the Roman personification of devotion, not only to the gods, but duties to family, as well.
