Bell, Roman, Pyramid-shaped, c. 1st-3rd Cent, Sweet Chimes!

Copper alloy; 50mm/36.8gm

Con/ As Cast; glossy dark brown patina. When arrived, the bell was missing its clapper, but our Sheri added a new one, and the bell again chimes once more after 1800 years! 

Seller's Note/ Such bells were hung in doorways as a protection from evil spirits. An interesting and charming bell with typical four feet. And speaking of protection from evil spirits and four feet, our dog Patrick is frightened by the sweet chimes and takes off running! LOL!
