Ave!

Ring, Men's, Merchants Signet, 13th-16th Cent

Copper alloy; 5.4gm  --   Ring size 9 1/2

Con/ As Cast and Engraved; glossy dark brown patina, sound and wearable, for sure!

Description/ One piece casted and deeply engraved bronze. Large decorative Lombardic letter "M" (?) with crosshatching and flanked by palm branches, all within an engraved octagonally shaped bezel.

Seller's Note/ This manly man ring is truly "bad ass" and killer cool, O my friends!

Pollio suggests that such signet rings were not used as the owners initial, per se, but rather by a certain guild of merchants in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Sadly, who such merchants were, and their products, has been lost to time.
